To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Success Story With My Nissen! I had the lap nissen fundoplication in may 2008 and am very glad I did. I feel better than I have for 5 years. I was suffering from acute anemia and the doctors could not find out where I was losing blood. I had two colonoscopies and egds and they were both normal. For five years I had to have multiple blood transfusions and iron infusion treatments to control my anemia My gastroenterologist kept saying he thought my stomach was bleeding because I had a very large hiatal hernia and the constant movement of my stomach up and down through the diaphram was causing lesions. March 2008 I started vomiting blood and passing it through my bowels so we rushed to the hospital. They performed an upper egd scope and there it was. It had been bleeding. My doctor was so excited. He advised the surgery and I have had no trouble since. I can eat normally, I am off the medicines I needed to combat the anemia and I have no regrets. Comments
